I think you should watch Lady in the Water. Apart from one of M. Night Shyamalan's lesser known earlier films, Wide Awake, this is my favorite of his. I really wanted to see it when it was in theaters, but I kept putting it off until it was too late. Well, it came out on DVD this week, and you should really check it out. Most of the characters are very engaging, and the story is intriguing. There is a 'moment,' but it's not something you need a sixth sense for. There aren't many signs to help you guess at the 'moment.' Shyamalan has loosened his seemingly unbreakable grip on mysteries, and has made a fairy tale instead. It doesn't take a village to figure out this plot. I highly recommend you see it!

Hexmas!
It's almost hexmas time. That means two things for me. One is a nice long break away from work in general, and the kids I support in particular. And the other means family time. So, there's always a balance. I love my job. It's the best job in the world for me, but even still there are times when I need to step back and not have to be so...patient, I guess. The time away from the kids I support will make it so that I'm a much more fun person to be around when the programs start running again. And it couldn't come sooner. Last week, I took three of the boys bowling, and promptly got my ass handed to me. Dead last. I came in dead last in a group that consisted of 2 kids with downs and an autistic guy, and me. We had the gutter gaurds up, and I *still* managed to miss all the pins one turn. Not my finest hour. If you ever are in need of a humbling experience, look no further.
So, a break? Bring it on!
But that means family, and this year is the first year in recent memory that I've been involved with someone during hexmas. And it marks the first year EVER I've lived with someone. It means lots of happy things and good times, but it also means extra family obligations. On top of that, my aunt up and decided to get married on the 23rd! Who does that? Crazy women approaching middle-age and freshly divorced, that's who. But it's on my dad's side, and they never invite me to *anything,* so I figured I'd better go. So, for the 23rd up until the 27th, Kat and I are booked tight. What an odd feeling. We're not even going to be home from hexmas eve up until after boxing day.
And that's about all that's going on so far. Kat and I are still getting along great, and you will find noone else more surprised than me. She's working now, which is nice. We are now DINKs. Anyway, this is about the end of this late-night ramble, on what should be called the Seldom-Updated Tangent. But hopefully I'll change that.
