I spent the weekend on the island, with Kelly and Jana. Going to see Kelly always clears my head and makes me feel better about the path I've chosen. And Jana is such a delightful little pixie-like creative juggernaut that you can be doing anything, and she makes it interesting. Toby, why didn't I ever think to introduce them to you while we were on the island? Oh, yes. Bugs! Lots and lots of bugs. It's so fun to explore the world when you're with a geek of the same ilk. Next time, you will meet them.
Anyway, I am feeling better and better about my decision to return to school and finish my degree. The support from everyone I mention this to helps tremendously.
The theater program begins in a couple of weeks, and Kat, Jenn and I are meeting on Friday to begin designing it. The style we've selected is a dinner theater, with three one-acts of approx. 20 minutes each. I don't know if we'll use existing plays, or cobble together our own original peices. I am for cobbling together our own shit, but it's an intimidating task. Perhaps we could enlist the help of the participants in the writing process? Who knows?
Speaking of Jenn, I saw the house she bought with her husband, Mike. Really nice! The reason I saw it was amusing, actually. I got home from work with Sonny, and I reached into my pocket and found myself key-less. Fortunately, Sonny was around, and drove me to Jenn's house. I had lent them to her at work so she could get into the office. I was very fortunate that she kept them on her, and didn't lock them in the office, or else I might be still outside, freezing my ass off. Anyway, it's a very lovely house, and Jenn totally should and is happy about it. They deserve it. Them's good people, that Jenn and Mike.
I saw "The Aristrocrats," and I enjoyed it. Actually, I enjoyed the extra bit about the comics telling their favourite jokes. I have exhausted my audience on the re-telling of said favourite jokes. Responses ranged from blank stares to loud laughter. Mostly, I got blank stares.
